Fill with well-rotted manure or leaf i mold and mix with the surrounding l soil. Do this early In February, j Make two trenches again five Inches ! deep and eight Inches apart, and In these sow the seed two Inches apart and cover with sail about one Inch and j firm It well. Little by little, as the peas grow, fill up the trench. When ' the peas are four Inches high provide j chicken wire trellises or brush for t them to climb on. On account of the I wire getting pretty hot In the strong ; sunshine some people find they have ' better success with the brush.
