Show Basketball Play Starts Here On Friday Night The 19G5-66 basketball season for the Parowan High School gets under way on Friday of this week when the first prac-tive prac-tive games will be played in the local gymnasium. Helping the Rams pry off the lid here will be the varsity and junior varsity squads from the Virgin Valley High at Msquite Nev. Coach Charles Brinkerhoffs squads will entertain the Nevada teams with the junior varsity contest getting under way at 6:15 and the varsity squads to pair off at 8 o'clock. These will be the first of a 11-varsity game practice schedule, with the junior jun-ior varsity getting into the act on each occasion. The following night, Satur-1 day, the Rams will travel to' Hurricane for games with thej Hurricane Tigers, for the second practice round. The following week end, Dec. 10 and 11, the games will be on the Parowan court, with the Enterprise En-terprise Wolves coming on Friday Fri-day night and the Valley High team from Orderville here on Saturday night. Seven more contests are on the docket between then and Friday, Jan. 7 when play opens in the Millard Division of Region Ten, the first round of which will see the Delta Rabbits com ing to Parowan, and Milford going go-ing to Fillmore to open against the Millard team. Beaver gets the opening round bye. In commenting on the strength of the division teams, Coach Brinkcrhoff is picking the Eagles of Millard as the team to beat. Delta, last year's region champions, cham-pions, will be down, but still good, with Parowan, Beaver and Milford, being in the fight for; the division honors. i |
