Show Cedar Chapter, Order Oi Eastern Star Installs Officers Mrs. Margaret Slye was installed worthy Matron of Cedar Chapter Nov. 20, Order of the Eastern Star, and Harry Freeman as worthy wor-thy Patron at a special meeting Saturday evening, Nov. 20 at the Masonic Temple. Mrs. Candace Ewing, retiring matron, and Earl Bunn refining patron presided over the first half of the meeting prior to the installation instal-lation ceremony. Ross Slye, past patron, was the Installing officer, assisted by Lucille Lu-cille Bunn, chaplain; Matila Biederman, marshal and Lelah Wilson organist. Other officers installed for the ensuing year were: Jennie Teters, Associate Matron; Gustin Good-: Good-: ing. Ass(x-iate Patron; Elaine Murray, Sec; Bcrniece Lewis, jTreas.; Ethel Smith, Conductress; ' Geraldine Gooding, Associate Conductress; Marjorie Arrow-smith, Arrow-smith, Chaplian; Marie Bunnnell, Marshall; Lelah Wilson, Organist; Organ-ist; Evelyn LaFrentz, Adah; Susan Su-san Procter, Ruth; Ethel Stark, Ester; Ruth Gardner, Martha; Velma Lundgren, Electa; Emma Freeman, Warder and Tom Murray, Mur-ray, Centinel. The program Included speeches by the newly installed worthy matron and patron, and the re-itiring re-itiring matron and patron. Marie Gowan rendered a vocal solo, accompanied ac-companied by Vera Sherratt. I Gifts from the officers and the 'Chapter were presented to Mrs. ! Ewing, Mrs. Slye and Earl Bunn hy Gearldine Gooding, Lucille Bunn, Jennie Peters and Gustin Gooding, respectively. The Margaret Mar-garet Rohn T'.n was presented to Mrs. Slye by Mrs. Fwing. Following the int!aiia?ton cer-emony cer-emony refreshments were seivcd to members and guests by Myrtle Myr-tle Smith, Marjorie Durand and Ethel Stark. A banquet at the Sugar Loaf ! Cafe preceded the meeting at .which time Mrs. Slye presented the officers for 'he ensuing year I with beautiful rouages. |
