Show College of Southern Utah to Host ICJIC Wrestling Meet on Saturday The College of Southern Utah athletic department will host Saturday the Intermountaln Collegiate Col-legiate Athletic Conference wrestling wres-tling meet, according to Bruce Osborn, director. Four schools of the conference will participate for the conitr-ence conitr-ence title, Osborne indicated, Including In-cluding Snow, Ricks, Boise and CSU. Weighins are set for 8 a. m. Saturday with the first of two wrestling sessions to begin at 1 p. m. Finals in all weight divisions will be held Saturday beginning at 7:30 p. m. Approximately 35 matches are scheduled to be held, Osborne stated, 20 in the opening session and 15 in the finals Saturday. Each session two mats will be In use in order to run off the entire en-tire meet In one day. Ricks College of Rexburg, Idaho, Ida-ho, the defending ICAC wrestling champion, will take on the favorite fav-orite role for the competition although al-though Boise Junior College and CSU teams are expected to give Ricks a race for the title. Ricks and Boise have split in dual meets this year, Osborne stated. Boise has defeated Snow College in a dual meet and CSU has also defeated Snow in competition com-petition this season. Boise will bring two confer, ence champions Into the meet in the 191 pound class and the heavyweight division. The CSU team is expecting its best performances out of Tyree Bulloch of Cedar City in the 137 pound class; Don Hunter at 157 and Mike Canprose at 191, and Tony Cooper In the heavyweight division will be out to dethrone the Boise champions. Snow, although not rated as a strong team contender, will have a number of good men competing compet-ing and how they finish will have a definite bearing in the final outcome on a team basis. |
