Show Junior High School Finds Pleasure In Picture Directory By L. C. Mile. Principal Cedar City Junior High School Schools have been known to list the names and addresses of their students in the sehtol directory, di-rectory, but the Cedar City Junior High School has gone a step farther far-ther this year by adding a picture pic-ture of each of the 600 students to the directory. The student body in cooperation coopera-tion with the photography department de-partment has provided photographs photo-graphs of the seventh, eighth and ninth grades and arranged them on large chart paper and placed them in the school's display dis-play window with the name of each child below the picture. Each grade is placed in a different differ-ent section of the window. Already the project has paid off many fold, not only as a directory di-rectory but in numerous other ways. Students who have been in the Junior High for over two years are now for the first time getting get-ting acquainted with each other They have seen students as they passed them in the halls but have never known them by name. Now when they see a boy or girl they only have to go to the display directory to learn their name and find out more about them. It is also interesting to see groups of teachers window gazing, gaz-ing, trying to place certain students stu-dents whom they have seen many times but never known them by name. As new students enroll at the school the photography department depart-ment takes their picture and places it in the window. This introduces them to the student body and makes them feel at home with their new friends. This is one prolect In the Junior Jun-ior High where tne full 600 are all given equal recognition and they like it. |
