Show City Mans Hydrants, Hose to Clean Main Street Litter As the result of protests carried to the board of directors of the Chamber of Commerce Monday night, regarding the unclean can-dition can-dition of Main street in the business bus-iness district, quick action followed fol-lowed Tuesday. A number of complaints had been filed with Chamber of commerce com-merce officers, about the dirt and dust on Main street and about the conditions of the gutters. In response to these complaints, Leo Cahoon, president; Mrs. M. A. Cowley and G. D. MacDonald, di-rectors, di-rectors, met with City Manager Thomas Thorsen Tuesday morn, ing, and asked that immediate action be taken. Tuesday afternoon after-noon the street was washed thoroughly, thor-oughly, with the collection of mud and dirt carried to the street from sides streets by the traffic was removed. |
