Show Chairman Named For CARE For Korea Drive Mrs. Darwin Nelson will serve as local chairman of the Thanksgiving Thanks-giving season " CARE-for Korea" campaign of the General Federation Feder-ation of Women's clubs, it was announced today by Mrs. Wallace Wal-lace Flanigan, president of the MBW club. National goal of the campaign, which will be conducted by Federation Fed-eration affiliates throughout the United States from Nov. 12 through Thanksgiving Day, has been set at 150,000 CARE packages. pack-ages. Of that amount, a quota of $100 has been set for Cedar City. .All funds contributed will be used to provide CARE packages of food, clothing textiles and blankets for Korean orphans, refugees re-fugees and other civilian war vicitims. The terrible destruction destruc-tion of war has turned millions of the Korean people-many of them orphaned children - into homeless, destitute refugees. The CARE packages which have been prepared for Korean relief include woolen blankets, cotton textiles, food, woolen suit-ing, suit-ing, underwear and knitting wool. All contributions will be pooled to provide a complete package. Deliveries will be arranged ar-ranged by CARE to orphanages, refugee camps and other relief centers, on the basis of greatest need. |
