I In winning from Delta at that! plate, Coach Bruce Decker's boysi did something that no other Par-1 ovvan team has been able to do since the local school was placed in the Millard division. Last year! the Rams beat Delta at Paro- j wan for the first win over the Millard county crew. Briefly, the Parowan victory was the result of the Delta ol-fense ol-fense being unable to get past the Parowan defense, and the home team's inability to stop the scoring of Eric Clark whose height gave him an advantage ovci the Delta players. Delta led during the first quarter, quar-ter, 3 to 0, 3 to 3 and 7 to o before be-fore the Rams moved into an 8-all tie at the end of the period. In the third quarter the Delta boys got hot and made several long ones shooting over the Parowan defense, ana drew up to within three points shortly before the end ot the period, which ended at 31 to 21 for the Rams. With the opening of the final period Parowan started to draw away again and built up as much as a 12 point lead shortly short-ly before the final whistle to win finally by the 43 to 33 score. Clark with 20 points and Roy Benson with 11 points, led the Parowan scorers while Wilfield and Moody led the Delta scoring with 14 and 11 points, respectively. respec-tively. .The defensive work of the entire Ram squad was excellent, holding the vaunted Rabbit offense of-fense which had piled up scores in the 30's and Gn's against Mil-fold Mil-fold and Millard. Millard, who was idle in league play, took on tne highly rated American Fork team and lost by a 50 to 41 score in a practice game. This week's games pit Parowan Paro-wan against the Millard team at Fillmore in another rough one for the local squad, and Delta Del-ta comes to Beaver to take on the undefeated Beaver team in what should be another hard fought battle, Beaver to hold its undefeated spot and Delta to keep in the running for the divi-what divi-what should be another hard |
