Show A A FEW students seem to think that it i is not right for the Athletic Association Association Association As As- to require that non-members non pay admission to the baseball games They say that the campus is for the use of ot students whether those students are members of the Association or not They do not appear to consider the fact that the Association has been to great expense in improving the campus campusand campusand campusand and building ng a close board fence around it thereby giving us the best field for athletic purposes in the city It is to tobe tobe tobe be regretted that there are a few students students students stu stu- dents among us who think the they should sit idly by while others work and then when the drudgery is all done come along and claim a share of the benefits The fees of the Association were put so low that all c could uld join yet a few will not for no other reason reason apparently than simply because they will not What to do with such is a problem They will not join in with those who wish to progress even even eyen when the greatest inducements are offered They seemingly seemingly seemingly seem seem- do not wish to be alive so to say themselves and raise a decided objection objection objection tion wh when n other students try to work up upa a little spirit It was the same way with the Kir- Kir mess N Not ot con content ent to stay away themselves themselves them them- selves they went about the halls grunting grunting grunting grunt grunt- ing ing and grumbling doing their utmost to make it a failure That they did not succeed w was was s not due to lack of effort So they are in everything and now after having done all possible to defeat the aims of the Association they coolly step up and object to the Association asking them to pay to see the games Oh what loyalty Angels and ministers ministers ministers minis minis- of grace defend us We wish to be understood in this matter We do not say that the liberty of any student should be curtailed If Ifa a student does not want to join the Association it is his own business and not nOI one will object but when that student insists on claiming all the privileges which members enjoy we do think his idea of consistency somewhat limited If someone offers you fifty dollars worth of goods for fifty cents it is none of our business that you do not accept but we are at liberty to think you do not know what is for your own interest but hut when you try to compel that someone to give you the goods simply because you demand it we think the owner has the right to object and object so strongly that you will know the objection has been made I If f this should be read by any of the kickers which we ve very y much doubt as they are usually not lot subscribers please consider that the Association has not been trying to induce you to become a member because it could not get along without you or because it feared that your animosity could hinder its progress not in the least Its altruistic spirit has been trying to g get t you away from that intense gloom of self-conceit self which surrounds you that you may may enjoy the brighter side of college life It has gone seven-eighths seven of the w way way y to meet you why not you advance e the short short distance that remains |
