The $ f home was presented to the school last week as a gift from the Thorley family. It will be known as the Frank A. Branch Agricultural college has 1 been made possible when it was I announced last Friday at com- i 1 mencement exercises for the !n-' ! stitutlon that Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Thorley have presented the i school with their home located, at 353 West 200 South, directly i across the street from the south boundary of the college. The USAC BAC board of trust-ees trust-ees accepted the gift at their annual an-nual meeting held Thursday night in Cedar City. The home is to be given to the BAC as soon as a new home being built by the Thorleys Is completed. Known as the Frank A. Thorley Thor-ley hall, the building will be devoted de-voted to the music department. According to officials at the school, this presentation marks i the first gift of an entire struc- ture to the college. , At the present time, the music department of th B A C Is housed on the top floor of the science building. Because of the number of students, practicing is done In the music rooms, at churchs and In other places close to the campus. cam-pus. Mr. and Mrs. Thorley and thefr five children are all graduates of the school. Mr. and Mrs. Thorley were In the class of 1902 when the school was known as the Branch Normal school, while their three sons and two daughters daugh-ters are graduates of the BAC. |
