Show City Adult Education Classes To Open On January 7th ' Adult Classes will open next Wednesday, Wed-nesday, January 7 at 7:30 p. m. as follows: Current Affairs, Kirk Daly, instructor; in-structor; Room 307, High School. Tailoring and Sewing, Karma P. Swindle, Clothing Room B. A. C. General Sewing, Margaret Fetter, man; Clothing Room, high school. Elementary Typing, Virginia Mur-schel? Mur-schel? Type Room, High School. Guiding the Young Child, Mary O. Barlow; Library, High school. Interior Decoration, Mary L. Bas-tow; Bas-tow; (Fridays at 4:15, Room L 11 B. A. C). Landscaping Your Home, Mary L. Bastow: Room L 11, B A C. Fix-In Class, C. B. Coolcy; Wood Shop, B. A. C. Those Interested In other classes not listed here are requested to meet Wednesday at 7:30 p. m. lu the Little Theatre of the High school where the committee will discuss dis-cuss possibilities of further courses. If ten or more people sign for a given class then a teacher will be secured se-cured and the course begun. Of the classes listed above only Elementary Elemen-tary Type will require a fee. Many people signified their interest in-terest In classes on the questionable given out through the Parent-Teach, ers group but failed to sign their name. Consequently, cards cannnt be sent to everyone who signed but all classes are open to the entire public. The above list constitutes only those who signed up on groups of ten or more. A number of other classes had eight or nine persons Interested and If these people will meet at the Littie Theatre Wednesday Wednes-day night it is quite probable, that other classes can be offered. Such classes Included one on "Cooking for the Family." "How to Speak Spanish", and "Home Building and How". The latter class might be of particular Interest to veterans and other people considering building a home. If enough people are Inter-ested Inter-ested the committee will secure the services of C. B. It should be invaluable to anyone who Is planning plan-ning a new home. No teacher has yet been secured for the course "Understanding Adolescents," Ado-lescents," but the committee is still making an effort to find a qualified person to carry this class which has been one of the most widely requested. The course called "Meeting the Sex Education Needs of Children" will be given as a two day clinic on February 5 and 6. Miss Winifred Hazen, Family Life Consultant for the State Department of Education will be the discussion leader. |
