Show Union Pacific Issues Seed Potato Booklet Omaha, Neb.. Jan. 17 Substantially Sub-stantially Increased In size, Union Un-ion Pacific Railroad today made distribution of its 1919 edition of "Certified Seed Potato Growers". Three thousand copies of the booklet were issued, which is printed annually by the railroad as a service to potato growers and to encourage the use of certified cer-tified seed. Prepared by the company's ag. grlcultural development department, depart-ment, the 16 page booklet lists the names of nearly 700 growers of certified seed potatoes in counties coun-ties served by Union Pacific in Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Utah and Montana, 100 more than last year. In the booklet are eight Illustrations Illus-trations depicting the growth, handling and planting of seed potatoes. Among those to whom copies of the booklet were sent were potato shippers in Union Pacific territory, growers listed in the booklet, county agents, vocational vocation-al agriculture instructors, experimental experi-mental stations, deans at state agricultural colleges, stale departments de-partments of agriculture, state potato certifying agencies and Union Pacific and Pacific Fruit Express representatives. |
