Show Utahns Take Spot Light At BPW Club Region Convention Stti miiubm of the Cedar City Business and Professional Women's Club Including Mrs. Lllliun W. Lunt. Utah State President, returned Monday Mon-day from the Western Regiuaiul Conference held In Sun Valley. Ay enthusiastically report a most Interesting In-teresting and entertaining convert-" convert-" tlon. Sixty-one members of the Utah Federation attended, in a total registration of 410. One of the unusual features of the Conference was a Centennial Breakfast at which Utah officiated as Hostess, Mrs. Lunt presiding. Through the courtesy and cooperation coopera-tion of W. P. Rogers, manager of Sun Valley, a special Pioneer menu was served. In consisted of Utah strawberries, and pioneer foods of salt bacon, fried cornmeal mush, fried cakes or doughgods, hominy grits, hone and Dixie molasses, butter but-ter in old fashioned pats, pitchers of milk, and pioneer (herb) tea. Bowls of Utah cherries and little cardboard ox-drawn covered wagons wag-ons served as table decorations. All Utah women were in Pioneer costume, cos-tume, and wore quaint paper sun-bonnets. sun-bonnets. After the breukfast, Utah presented pre-sented a special program, Including a skit depleting the unique position of Utah women In the story of Women's Wo-men's Suffrage in the nation. It is a matter of pride that Utah Women Wo-men cast the first votes by women in the United States. |
