Show 150 Flyers Visit Cedar City During Air Tour Approximately 150 people arrived ar-rived in Cedar City Saturday In 57 different aircraft, despite a terrific wind which blew through the southern part of the state during the day. The group, participating par-ticipating in the first official Utah tour, in observance of National Na-tional Air Tour week, arrived and left Cedar City without a mishap. Joe Bergin, state aeronautic director, headed the group which included pilots from most cities in the state with a flying service. ser-vice. An estimated equal number of flyers were grounded at their home fields due to the high winds. Guests of the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce at dinner at the Cedar Breaks lodge, the group was welcomed to Cedar City by Mayor Gronway R. Parry and Chamber of Commerce president pre-sident Warren 11. Bulloch. The flyers were invited to use the municipal swimming pool, and some motored to Navajo lake for an afternon of fishing prior to the evening banquet. M. J. Urie, chairman of the chamber aviation committee.' and City Councilman Morris C. Roberts, Ro-berts, in charge of local arrangements, ar-rangements, escorted the pilots to Cedar Breaks. |
