Show Opinions Differ On Deer Hunting Results The first day's big rush Is over now, and hunters can walk around without bumping Into a red shirt or hat under every tree. Many kills have been reported over the week end and the beginning be-ginning of this week, but it ap-pears ap-pears at this time as if the kills are not approaching the numbers of last year. Most sportsmen claim the rea-son rea-son for this is the scarcity of deer. Many does have been spotted spot-ted but the bucks seem to have left the county. On the other hand, many local hunting parties have claimed to have had. no trouble in registering a kill. It is estimated that in the entire en-tire state, over 100,000 hunters took to the woods the opening lay of the season. The usual large numbers of Callfornians coming into this part of the state, helped to augment this figure. |
