Show Former B. A. C. Athlete Missing In North Africa Staff Sergeant Delbert (Deb) R. Warner, popular football and basketball bask-etball star at the Branch Agricultural Agricul-tural College from 1940 to 1942, has been reported missing in action In North Africa since August 18, according ac-cording to word received by his mother, Mrs. Eva Warner of Provo. Deb will be remembered by sport fans of Cedar City, as a colorful halfback on the Branch College football teams of 1940 and 1941, and as a guard on the basketball teams of 1941 and 1942. His genial attitude atti-tude and always present grin made him a favorite with many fans. He attended grade schools in Provo and was graduated from the Provo high school In 1940 before registering at the B. A. C. He entered en-tered military service August 10, 1942. He studied at the army radio school at Sioux Falls, S. D.. graduating grad-uating in February. From there he went to Las Vegas, Nevada, for gunnery training, and was sent overseas upon completion of the course. At the time he was reported missing mis-sing in action, he was a gunner a-board a-board a bomber. |
