Show BAC Broncos Score Two Victories Over Fort Douglas Before Capacity Audience The Branch Agricultural College basketball, team thrilled local sport fans with two convincing victories over the powerful Port Douglas team In the local gymnasium gymna-sium Friday and Saturday nights. The Broncos won the first game ty a score of 63 to 52, by staging a last half rally- to come from behind. be-hind. After a n'p and tuck battle during the first quarter, in which the Broncos took a 10 to 15 lead, the visitors pulled away to to 39 to 29 lead at half time. During the third period, however. Jack VVood-gAiry VVood-gAiry and Reed Rosenberg led a basket barrage that netted the local team 18 points, while the visitors were held to one field goal, which put the Broncos out In the lead 47 t0 41 at the end of the quarter. The final period saw the soldiers rally to score 11 points, but the Broncos scored 16 points to win 63 to 52. In the second game the Bronca rushed their opponents off their feet from the opening whistle, and took a commanding 19 to 7 lead in the first quarter, and increased It to 35 to 13 at half time. In the third period the visitors gained some ground, scoring 19 points to B. A. C.'s 11, but could not keep up the pace and dropped the gam? by a score of 63 to 47. Every man who took the floor for the B. A. C. squad turned In good performances, and some of them did unusually fine work. Jack Woodbury led the scoring in both games, getting 22 points the first night and 17 the second, and played play-ed a brillant floor g'ame. Reed Rofenberg did everything well In the first game and garnered 17 points. Leonard M it kelson did bp unusually fine defensive Job in almost al-most completely battling up the dangerous Kent Murdock after the first quarter of the first game. Herman Anderson did a surprisingly surprising-ly good Job, particularly In sweeping sweep-ing the dsfenre bankboard. Chick Terry proved to be a real ball hawk and scored well from his guard position. The Broncos will play thelr final practice game Friday night, meeting meet-ing the Hlllf eld army team In the B. A. C. gym.
