Mtcr serving for a few ninths In the Atlantic he went to tne South Pacific theatre of war and beginning with the M.lne Bay battle he and his crew hod participated in many of the battles for New Gulnia. In nine of the 32-two niajjir engagements in which the crew partlrnpte damage was suffered either by the boat or personnel. The crew received five letters of commendation and the Skipper received a service star. The crew Is credited with sinking sink-ing a goodly number of Japanese barges, and one dive bomTer.
