Show Extensive City Recreation Program To Open Soon Plans havj been laid this week for extensive recreation program in Cedar City this summer. The plan, as cutlined by Lee Liston, newly appoint, ap-point, d city recreation supervisor, includes activities for young and old, and Mr. Liston states that the ( program will be increased or changed to meet th3 desires of the people as the summer advancs. Mr. Liston will work in direct cooperation with the Community Recreation Committee composed of L. C. Miles, Dr. John Beal, Willard Lunt, Morris Roberts, Mrs. Blanche Houchcn and Mrs Loreta Riddle. The program will Include an cx-trnslve cx-trnslve swimming program games cf all kinds at the City Park, soft-ball soft-ball leagues for adults and Juniors, tennis, and story hours for children. The swimming pool will be opened open-ed as soon as some needed repairs can be made, probably next week. The pool will be open from 2 p. m. to 10 p. m. each day, with a schedule sche-dule of Instruction classes and of competition to be announced In the near future. The admission charge for adults will be 30c. with children child-ren und.r twelve years of age to pay 15c until 6 p. m. and regular adult prices after that hour. The regular fee for towels and suits, will of course be charged. As many activities as possible will be arranged for the city park, untllizing the children's playground equipment there. Games for young people and adults such as volley ball, horn-shoe nltrhlnir hnrimtntnn will also be provided. League coin-netlton coin-netlton will be provided In thesj games. Softball will again play an Important Im-portant part In the recreation program. pro-gram. The games will be played on the high school football field with the lights to be used In order to complete all games as scheduled, and for special contests. The usual adult league will be formed again this year, and In addition ad-dition It is planned to form t league lea-gue for boys fifteen and sixteen years of age. Girls league competition compe-tition will also be revived. Tennis will be held cn the Branch College courts, with Instruction provided, pro-vided, and tournaments arranged in both singles and doubles for adults and Juniors. |
