Show Construction Here Booms As More Buildings Go Up In spite of tlr fchartaga of materials ma-terials a building boom In Cedar City Is very much In evidence, and in addition to a largo number of homes, many business bui'.dlngs are under construction and procwinu rapidly. Work was started during tiie week on a new building on the corner of First Wert and Hardlns Avenue. The building ls being irectcd for Lehi M. Jones to home his farm machinery and hardware business. Construction was also started on thre; new stores on Harding. Avenue Ave-nue between the acver.s and Company Com-pany store and the Ccdar Lumber ind Hardware retail plant. Tlu buildings are being erected for the lumber company. Woric has been practically completed com-pleted on four other buildings including in-cluding the Cedar City Frozen Foods plant, owned by Clarsn'e Anderson and Ianthus Wright, Wal" ly and Vrn's Service Station on highway 01 North of town, a nation na-tion especially designed for eervlco to heavy diesel trucks; th Garrett Truck Company Dormitory, also on highway 91 North of town, and the Electric Appllcance company stor being bulit on South Main street by Ilwln Haltrrman and Max Willis. Progressing rapidly l the new tourlrt center being built by Rulon Knell, on the corner of First South and Main streets; a nw tourist center and large cafe, being tullt by Ray Knell on South Ma n street; , and a cafe on highway 01 North of town, to be operat:d by Dcui and Ted Nelson. Work on a store building for R. L. Durante on South Main ttrect, has been discontinued until tin end of winter weather. Work hag afro' been, 'started' on a trailer village for Branch Agricultural Agri-cultural college, which will Include central utility buildings as well as the trailer houses. A new addition to the girls' dormitory at the college, col-lege, doubling the present capacity, will be started soon. |
