Show Red Cross Drive Will Get Underway Tuesday With Meeting and Breakfast The Iron County Red Cross Drive will open Tuesday, March 12, and plans call for completing the drive in one day if possible as in the past. Workers throughout the county coun-ty plan to contact every business firm and home on the 12th. and the clean up days afterward. The 1946 slogan for the Red Cross is "Your Red Cross Must Carry On". Crville Isom, County Fund Chairman, Chair-man, points out that in spite of the war ending, the services of the Red Cross will have to continue and many of its achievements in 195 reveal the need in 1946. There are still 1,500.000 of our men overseas over-seas nnd Mr. Isom points out that during 1945, the monthly average of free meals served to service men overseas was two million; there were 820 Red Cross Clubs overseas; the number of O. I.'s assisted in 1S45 by the Red Cross was 4,350,628 rand the number of movies shown in hospitals, 115,000. During 1945 the "Red Cross collected 4,573.710 blood donations and 680.267.345 surgical dressings were produced. Mr. Isom. Eurrel W. Corry, Cedar City Chair-1 men and several of the district captains cap-tains in Cedar City, all being overseas over-seas veterans, can vouch for the excellent ex-cellent service and need for the American Red Cross. The Red Cross has never been just a war agency as some may believe, be-lieve, but has existed and operated In peace times as well. Also, even with the war ending, services to "hospitals during this year will have to be mora than last year as there are more men In hospitals now than at this time last year. Durrel W. Corry, the Cedar City chairman, reports that his city organization or-ganization is complete and Is made up of veterans and old hands at Red Cross work. S.
