Show School Board Election Is Scheduled for Wednesday Next Wednesday, December 4th. the residents of the Fourth Precinct of the Iron County School District, will elect a representative to the Board for a five year term, begin-ing begin-ing January 1st, 1947. Two candidates have been placed plac-ed in nomination for the position, Wilson N. Lunt, who has represented represent-ed the precinct for the past five years, having been filed for reelection, re-election, and Dr. John Beal, having been named as Lunt's only opposition opposi-tion for the position. Mr. Lunt, partner in the Lunt Motor Company firm, is a prominent prom-inent local businessman, and has been given recognition for his work as a school board member, by being elected president of the State School Board association, and by appointment appoint-ment by the State Superintendent to a special school investigalng committee. com-mittee. His opponent is a prominent de Ulst and livestock man, and an active civic worker, having devoted much time in past years to the promotion of recreation activities in Cedar City, and haying served as chairman of the Cedar City Coordinating Coor-dinating Council. Voting will take place at the Second Ward Church, with all residents re-sidents of voting age of that portion por-tion of Cedar City South of Center street and West of Main street eligible eli-gible to vote. |
