Members Celebrate Club's Seventh Birthday Members of the Cedar City Business Busi-ness and Professional Women's Club celebrated tho seventh birthday birth-day anniversary of the club Monday Mon-day evening, November 17, at Mary's Tea Room. The dinner table was beautifully beautiful-ly decorated In the club's colors, green and yellow, the centerpiece consisting of two yellow princess tapers rising from a bed of -yellow Chrysanthemums surrounded by green ivy. A large birthday cake, attractively decorated In green and yellow, carrying 7 tiny yellow candles, was cut and served by Mrs. Alta Hunter, a former president of the club. Following the dinner, Blaine Bet-tenson, Bet-tenson, supervisor of the Dixie National Na-tional Forest, gave a very interesting inter-esting discussion of the problems confronting the forests of the United States as d result of the misuse of forest lands in the past and the present program being carried out to bring about their Improvement. At the conclusion of Mr. Beten-son's Beten-son's discussion, a quiz program was conducted by the charter members mem-bers of the club, the questions dealing deal-ing with the history of the group. The program was under the direction dir-ection of the Education committee, with Mis Mary L. Bastow, chairman, chair-man, In charge. The next meeting of the club will be held Monday evening, December Decem-ber 1, at which time the group will serve a pot-luck supper. 'r |
