Show COUNTY SENDS THREE TO FILL DRAFT QUOTA Vernal Haslam of Cedar City and Walter Boyd Orton and Rlcharl Melvin Rowley of Parowan left Cedar City last Thursday, November Novem-ber 13, for Salt Lake City to fill Iron County's quota under the Selective Sel-ective Service call No. 21. Haslam and Orton ere Inducted into in-to the army at 8alt Lake City, but Rowley was rejected due to heart condition, Iron County's quota for the next call, which is scheduled for December Decem-ber 3, has been set at one man, according ac-cording to E. B. Dalley, clerk of the local Selective Service Board, who announced that Stewart Bernard Leigh, son of Mrs. and Mrs. Bernard Bern-ard Leigh of Cedar City, was the next In line. Although as yet no official quota has been set for Iron County during the month of January, Mr. Dalley announced that it was expected to be approximately four men inasmuch inas-much as the quota for the state as a whole has been set at 400 men. v |
