Show V 1 THREE SENTENCED ON LARCENCY CHARGE William Johnson, Thomas Malone and Harry Howell pleaded guilty to a charge of petty larceny before Justice of the Peace Alex H. Rollo Saturday afternoon and were fined $10 each and sentenced to serve three months in the Iron county Jail. The defendants were apprehended apprehend-ed near Modena for having broken the seal on a Union Pacific car and stealing a quantity of beer, the arrest ar-rest being made by A. T. Hedges, detective for the Union Pacific. It was brought out In the evidence evi-dence that Johnson and Howell did the stealing, while Malone helped them drink the beer. The court therefore gave Malone the alternative alterna-tive of leaving the county within five hours or serving the three months' sentence. Malone decided to leave the county and the other two were turned over to the custody of Deputy Sheriff Sherman Lamb who took them to the county Jail In Parowan to serve their sentences. |
