Show LUND. Lund, Utah, Oct. 20, 1916. Lund is getting to be an up-to-date town. Last Tuesday the town turned out for a time, and participated in a I grand masquerade ball. The music-1 music-1 inns were John H. Perry and wife of Cedar City. The occasion was certainly cer-tainly a most enjoyable one. The school house waf packed with people, many of the farmers from the surrounding sur-rounding districts. and sheep men being be-ing included in the company. Luncheon Lunch-eon was served by the ladies at 1 o'clock. o'-clock. The people from surrounding towns may think we are dead, but come and see, and have a good time; for this is the place to have it The railroad company has unloaded gravel to put on our street and improve im-prove our town, which has been needed need-ed for a long time. i a Mrs. Sam Barton came home from Cedar City Wednesday. She went over there while her husband underwent under-went an operation. m The Lund Commercial club has mot and decided to have a better time than ever on Halloween night, which we hope will be a grand affair. Everybody Every-body is Invited. There will be dancing and games, fortune-telling and lunch, consisting of coffee, sandwiches and pumpkin pie. So come and join us. Fred Burkholder, Oscar Thompson, Naze Harris and Tom Pryor arc hauling haul-ing ore from the Arrowhead to be loaded here and shipped to the smelter up north. Mr. Young, one of our dry farmers, is working in J. D. Leigh's store, as business has been so rushing. Every place In town has been filled up both hotels so crowded that they have had to find rooms wherever they could to accommodate their customers. This is a busy time of the year. There has been lots of sheep shipped out of here recently, and the stores have done a rushing business. |
