The eggplant Is a heat-loving plunt and cannot be successfully planted until the ground hus become warm und the weather settled. The soil best adapted to the eggplant egg-plant Is a rich, sandy loam, well drained. The plants should be set In rows S feet apart, with the plants 2 feet apart In the rows. Cultivation should be frequent and thorough. Fresh manure should not be used on eggplant, but well-rotted manure may be applied freely. In fact, there Is little danger of getting the ground too rich.
