Show Correspondence ENOCH. Enoch, Utah, July 15. Program for Pioneers' Day. Tho people of Enoch arc preparing to have a real old times celebration on tho 24th. The program arranged is as follows: .Hoisting of tho flag and music by the band nt sunrise. Assembling of the citizens ut 9 a, m. nt the Enoch amuscmont hall. Grand parade. PROGRAM AT 10 A. M. Singing, "Come, Como Ye Saints," by congregation. Prayer, S. F. Jones. Singing by tho choir, "Utah, We Love Thee." Speech, "Landing of the pioneers in the Snlt Lake Valley," John Lee Jones. Song, "Hard Times," and demonstration demon-stration with spinning whoel, etc., by the old folks. Selection by the Enoch brass bund. Pioneer sketch, Dan. E. Mathcson. Duct and chorus, "Proud, Yes of Our Homo in the Mountains," by- Mm. M. S. Rogcrson nnd Blanch Jones. Music by tho brnss band, while butter-milk refreshments and old-faBh-ioncd cako arc being served. Quartet, Wm. J. Matheson & Co. (Recitation, Bp. C. E. Jones. Qunrtet, Webster Brothers. Song, "Utah, the Queen of the West," by congregation. Benediction. The peoplo will then assemble nt the Armstrong grove, prepared to cook a real pioneer camp-fire dinner. Tho afternoon will bo spent in sport in tho grove. A grand ball will be given in the evening. We extend a hearty invitation invita-tion to our neighboring towns to come nnd join us and make it a day long to bo remembered. Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Jones returned home last evening from their visit to Kamas, Utah, and report having had nn excellent time. Lust week Thursday the young ladies la-dies of this place organized the C. C. Embroidery Club, with Estella Jones ns president, Iantha Matheson vice-president, vice-president, Leone Jones, secretary and treasurer. |
