Show COUNTY ASSESSMENT IS A LITTLE LOWER. Returas Filed With County Clerk Indicate In-dicate Decrease of $29,498 From Last Year's Figures. i According to the official returns filed in tho county clerk's office, there is n decrease in the total assessment of Iron county for 1015, ns compared with the previous year, of 29,498. Tho total assessed value, according to the ! assessor's returns, is $2,783,581 fori the current year and $2,813,079 for 1014. For 1913, tho assessed valuoj was $2,475,205, and the increase, though gradual, has been steady for a number of years. The reason ascribed by the county clerk for the decrease is a chango of officials, it being found that it takes an assessor two or three years to get onto the "ropes" so that he cannot be imposed upon. Based upon the above assessment for this year and on last year's levies, lev-ies, the people will have about $110,-000 $110,-000 to raise for taxes nlone this fall. |
