Show H COUNTY HOSPITAL NEXT NEED H f) OSS1HLY the most urgent requirement of this H county now (excepting only better roads) is V a county hospital. A place where the sick and in- B. jured of this district of country can receive the m very best of nursing, medical and surgical atten- H tion, without the delay and expense incident to a H trip to Salt Lake City. m Under the provisions of a law enacted by the B, last legislature, counties have the right to sell H bonds for the erection of hospitals, and a two mill B annual tax is provided for the purpose of re- m paying the bonds and taking care of the interest H on same. This small tax of only one-fifth of a cent H on the dollar of taxable property is insignificant H in comparison to the benefits which the hospital H would confer, and to the saving in expense to the m- people which would be effected. The matter has H been agitated for some time past, and Is now as- H suming definite form. A petition is being circu- 1 lated asking for the establishment of such an in- m. stitution within the county, and it is understood Kf that it will probably receive the favorable action H of the County Commissioners, provided it bears H ' the signatures of the required 20' ' of the resident L taxpayers. T Among other benefits which are expected to M accrue from the establishment of a hospital will H be the encouragement it will give for competent, m experienced men to remain in the county and not B emigrate to more populous sections of the country m as soon as they become experienced and proficient, H, which has been our misfortune of the past. B With a neat, well appointed though modest lms- I pital located in the county, one more of our urgent HV needs will have been met and we will have an in- m Htitution to which we can not only point with pride H but can also lean upon in case of accident or siek- m B The proposition will no doubt receive the sup- B tort and encouragement of all progressive, pub- Ht lie spirited citizens. |
