Show WILL RECOMMEND BUILDING ROAD 00 A Record representative secured an interview from Randall L. Jones upon his return from Salt Lake City, where ,he had been to accompany the U. P. Railroad officials, and was informed thnt everything is favorable for tho branch U. P. Line from Lund to this city. Mr. Jones states that Mr. Gray, president pre-sident of the U. P. System, will mnko a recommendation to tho board of dl-rectois dl-rectois that tho Ccdar-LuniT branch be built. Mr. Jones also stated that President Gray was well pleased with what he saw while on his tour of the Breaks, Zion and Grand Canyon and Tryce canyon. ' The Union Pncifie not only will build the lino from Lund, but wll take ovur and complete the new hotel. Tho building of the line from Lund to Cedar is but a small fraction of whnt the U. P. contemplates doing in this section of Utah within the next year or two. It is the plan to. build hotels at the Btcaks, Zion, Grand and Bryce canyons, and to equip and op-crate op-crate an auto transportation line from and to tho various scenic points mentioned. men-tioned. The roads to these seccnic resorts arc financed with the exception of one, that from tho rim of Zion to intersect the Cedar-Long Valley highway at or near Orderville. Plans are now being formulated for the building of this road and it is expected that it will be completed by tho opening of the tourist tour-ist season next year. In the meantime, Mr. Jones pointed out, the people of Cedar should feel gratified that Mr. Gray has eventually eventu-ally decided to rocommend tho build-inff build-inff tho -Lund-Cedar branch , line, because a recommendation from tho president is the next thing to an actual order that work be commenced. The U. P. is being beseiged from all quarters for branch lhes to be built, and it is satisfying to know that tho branch for Iron County np peals to the officials far ahead of any, other than the Delta-Fillmore branch, which will bo built this fall. Mr. Jones, accompanied by his wife, leaves for the Yellowstono Park today, to-day, where Mr. Jones will make a careful Investigation Into the methods and plans used In the entertaining of tourists, also tho housing, camping and conveniences found there.
