Seventy (Ivo Tona of Hay, Pour Anl mals, Harness, Saddles and Other Property Lost Friday afternoon of last week witnessed one of the most disastrous dis-astrous fires that has yet visited t Cedar. pedestrians passing the residence resi-dence of Peter B. Fife saw f that, a fire had started in his barn. The alarm was immediately immedi-ately given and within a few moments a large number of citizens were on the ground bat-tling bat-tling with the flames. The structure, however, was so dry and composed of such inflamable stuff that no headway could be ma'de and the entire barn and contents were destroyed. The barn contained somewhere in the neighborhood of seventy tons of hay, harness, saddles and other property of value, besides be-sides two very valuable colts and some calves and a cow. There were four of the animals destroyed de-stroyed by the fire and all else in the barn as well as the barn itself. it-self. Nothing was saved, as there was a shortage of water and the heat was so intense that it was dangerous for anyone to "approach.
