Show RICH ORE FOUND IN COPPER ZONE (S. L. Tribune) Pioneer development work, which is being carried on in the Pinto Iron Mountain district by the Copper Zone Mining company in its property situated sit-uated about twelve miles from the Beryl st&tlon on the Salt Lake Route and eighteen miles from Lund, has resulted in tho opening of n body of very high-grndo ore, according to F. A. V. Kcsselhut, consulting engineer. Samples of the ore brought back from tho mino by Mr. Kcsselhut, have yielded, when assayed, remarkable silver and gold values. The ore iB a quartz, which shows on inspection, considerable syhanito and free gold. As tho exposure of ore occurs nt a depth of 1000 foet below the surfneo or tho dip of the vein, and amid geological geo-logical conditions which are unusually un-usually favorable, Mr. Kcsselhut is of tho opinion that tho company hns exposed in its ground nn ore body which will provo to bo of considerable consider-able value. Present development work is being carried from the main shaft sunk in n canyon. A crosscut hns been driven fiom the bottom of the shaft at n depth of 200 feet, to tho vein, in which work is now being done. The vein, which has a width of thirty-two , feet, cuts tho formntion wfth a strik of south 37 degrees east and n dip rff 73 degrees to the west. As the" porphyry diko is pelieved to lie hut a short distance from the present face of the drift, developments are being wntched in the Copper Zone with more than usual Interest. |
