Show UNIVERSITY HAS RECORD ATTENDANCE THIS YEAR With a registration of 1800 students stu-dents for tho spring quarter, the U. of U. reports the largest enrollment it has ever had in its history. This represents but one half of the number of people reached by the institution, ns the Extension Division is teaching 1700 more either in classes or by correspondence, cor-respondence, in addition to 2000 mho hear Univcrstiy lectures each month. This gives a total of over five thousand thou-sand inhabitants of the state who are receiving directly the advantages of tho professors, laboratories, and organization or-ganization of the school, every county in the stntp being represented on tho roster of the Extension department either for the classes or correspondence, correspond-ence, as well as having students in the regular departmenst. According to President John A. Widtsoe. this policy of making tho school a direct benefit to tho stato as a whole will be stressed even stronger during the next year. It is the aim to make the institution a vital part of the life and education of the state, and with tho increasing numbers of students who have registered each' quarter this year, next year promises to overshadow this one completely. With tho complotion of two new build-: ings nnd the installation of several, new laboratories every effort is being' made, according to the president, to put the school in readiness for tho coming year, |
