Show SPLENDID STREET MOVEMENT. FIRST SOUTH BEING GRADED GRAD-ED FROM COLLEGE TO CANYON. -I Work Under Supervision of Street Supervisior S. F. Leigh, And Councilor Williams. , Cedar has at last awakened to tho fact that it is a good thing to improve im-prove the streets within the city limits and men aro now at work on First South from College street to tho canyon can-yon grading and capping it in tho most approved way. Tho work is under tho direct supervision super-vision of Supervisor S. F. Leigh and Councilor Williams, and that already dono is commendable. Tho city is paying for tho grcator portion of tho grading, whilo patriotic patrio-tic citizens, in connection with tho Commercial Club are contributing labor and means for the capping. This street has been an eyesorq for years, uneven, kneo deep in mud during dur-ing the rainy seasons, and almost that deep in dust during the dry seasons. This will now be eliminated and tourists, and local teamsters will bo able to travel it at all seasons of tho year. The 'street just being finished will connect with tho canyon road, and as that fia well graded and capped through tho canyon, and joins with tho gulch road, which is ideal, wo can now boast of having a splendid highway high-way to tho mountains all the way from the center of tho city. Tho city fathers and tho patriotic citizens are to be commended on their enegery and enthusiasm in the matter of good roads to our canyon and scenic sites in tho mountains. Wo trust that this is only the be gining of good streets in Cedar and that as 1922 moves along other streets will be similarly graded and capped as First South street now will be. |
