Show A GREATPRQGRAM , Mrs. John U. Webster and Mrss Mildred Lewis arc working up an unusual prtfgram to be given at the B. A. C. auditorium on May 19th. For the purpose of raising funds for the playgrounds. Mrs. Webster Web-ster is training pupils of her elocution elo-cution class in a number of readings read-ings in the popular dialects such as Scotch, Irish and Negro. Also other selections both humorous and dramatic will be rendered. Miss Lewis is working with her dancing pupils in a number of nature and character dances. Local musicians Will assist on the program with vocal vo-cal solos and violin and double .piano accompaniments. The program will be, given in two parts and an intermission. Part 1. Will consist of nature dances and songs to suggest the great out doors. The soft, flowing yet cheerful movements of the Water Sprite dance will be executed exe-cuted by Jasmine Lewis as soloist ,with Martha Uric, Lucilc Kunz, Thelma Kunz and Jane Lewis in the background. After this Isabel Luke will sing "May Morning". Ten .small boys and girls costumed as flowers will dance in two numbers. Then two three-year-olds, Afton Lewis and Shirley Jones will dance .their Fairy Salute. Lucilc Kunz and Thelma Kunz in the spritely Wood Nymph Frolic will be accompanied ac-companied by Oricn Dalley on the violin. Otto Fife will sing the "Yeoman's Wedding Song" which will be followed by the dance of the Woodland Warriors by Mildred Lewis, Kathcrinc Jones, Wilma Leigh, Amy Leigh, Jasmine Lewis, Thelma Kunz and Virgina Corry. During the Intermission Mrs. Blanche Jones will read "Home" by Edgar Allan Guest; Hazel Bauer will give two selections "A'Darkie Lullaby" and "When Pa Comes Home"; "Bud Zoot's Love Letter" Let-ter" will be read by Libby Gower; Inez Woodbury and Isabel Luke will give the quarrel scene between Sir Peter and Lady Teazel from the "School of Scandal". Part 2. -Will consist of character charac-ter dances, songs and readings, Tarantella Tar-antella and Italian folk dance by Wilma Leigh, Kathcrinc Jones, Amy Leigh and Virgina Corry will be followed by "O Sole Mio" and Italian folk song, sung by Lorenzo Luke. Jasmine Lewis will dance the Irish Jig after which Hazel Bauer will read "Mother Malone" in Irish dialect. Martha Uric will dance a Scotch Schottishc which will be followed by a Scotch reading read-ing "How Gavin Put It to Mag", by Mrs. Blanch Jones. lone Lunt will sing "In Old Madrid" a Spanish Span-ish song and then Mildred Lewis will dance Espanita a spirited Spanish Sp-anish dance with a double piano accompaniment ac-companiment by Inez Woodbury and Mr. Norman McCarty. Jane Lewis will dance the oriental Sultan's Sul-tan's Favorite. |
