During the summer low Mass will I ; i be celebrated at 11 o'clock. Miss Mildred Cuddy, Miss Clara Fa- fek and Miss Frances Little were the soloists at St. Mary's last Sunday. All the children of the Junior choir I are. expected to attend the rehearsal I S on Saturday afternoon at 3:15. . I; Rev. Father Lechner of All Hallows college has gone away for the summer. The ladies of the Sewing Society : of St Ann's orphanage have discon- ' ' 3 Unwed their labors until September. The present members will extend a , glad welcome to any new members who will aid the good work, which will be resumed in the fall. 1 About six members of the Knights , of Columbus took the third degree in the Knights of Columbus in Butte, Mont., on Thursday evening. The Butte council is in a flourishing i condition and it is expected that new councils will shortly be organized at Anaconda, Billings and Helena. The degree work in Butte was in charge of the Denver, St. Paul and ; Salt Lake councils. Among those : who took part from this city were I ; ; James Walsh, Edward McGurrin and J ! Thomas J. O'Brien. The catechism medal, the 1 ; gift ot Bishop Scanlan, was awarded I Tr- . r- S; . ; - to Eligo Gianoli; the Phelan gold medal, for good conduct, was awarded award-ed to Helen Ferguson, Daisy Mullins and Edith McCullum. The latter in drawing for the gold medal was the lucky winner. The gold medal for music, the gift of Mrs. M. H. Kervin, was awarded to Miss Rose Pergrossi of De Lamar, Nev. Gold medal for stenography and type writing, the gift of F. E. McGurrin, McGur-rin, was awarded to Miss Alice Town-ley. Town-ley. Medal for mathematics, donated by Rev. W. F. Morrissey, was awarded award-ed to Hugh Townley Merit medals were bestowed on Martin Glassett, Blanche Barron, Martha Warner, Clara Stevens, Daisy Mullins and Helen Ferguson. |
