Show WIRE GOLD AT STATELINE. George A. Rice Strikes S8,000 Ore on Rice Mountain. According to the last issue of the State-line State-line Oracle, George A. Rice, owner of the group of claims bearing his name, and located lo-cated on Rice mountain, Iron county, has just made a strike of sensationally high-grade gold ore, samples of which have given returns of $8,000 per ton. He has opened a four-foot ledge in his Rocky Mountain claim four feet wide, all of which carries fair values, while a streak of spar running through it is described as being filled with wire gold. The strike is considered very important as bearing out the theories of many that a rich ledge runs through the Rice mountain moun-tain somewhere. Rich float has been found on and around the mountain for many years, but up to date none of the prospectors has been able to locate the ledge from which it came. It is said that at one time, when the smelters of Pioche were in blast, an old prospector made a business of gathering ud pieces of rich gold float and shipping the" rock on burros bur-ros to the Pioche smelters. Later a piece of float was found on the Sidewinder property, which is located on the west side of the hill, that assaved $32,000 per ton, and at different times since exceedingly rich piP(.s vT values were to i, r,';,,1 ?d'l considered one of ,h"1 'n th ,'1 I features of th Uhc' h- "1,,st im-1', I work a revolution in'uV,' al . r';- t Stateline district, i.;-, Portir known to crop out ,7 t,''ges of lot "i-heretofore "i-heretofore little att.-nt'?n uUu ?': to them, as ,verv t'r. -w,has Wnn' sought for valued 0 .!v ' Aor ap Now that Mr. Kkv S" r,;u r! spar is rich th mi' , -,srhfwn ths: . may be counted upon t. m i ttlaf rL'f coveries, particularly its 5?".k 'nh.Y. occurred to them t'h.-r" r, nas Fay, in the sum- VW?1' that the spar in tho.",)-',l; hav,' " gold.
