This is the amount he is suing to recover from the Southern Pacific rail- road company. Oloyd was a brakeman employed on the' road. Ahr.ut a year nso he was making a coupling, and whri ' the slack came his arm was caught and i crushed so badly that it had to be taken ; off between the elbow and th; shoulder. i An action for damages followed, and th J case yesterday took up the entire day in the federal court. S Both sides are trying to show that tha accident was duo to carelessness. The injury was received at a point of the road j where thtre is a hetvy grade.
