Show School Girl's Death. American Fork, April 1-. A terrible accident ac-cident occurred here this morning at S:o. The O. S. L. north-bound passenger train struck little 10-year-old Violet Padfteid. killing her instantly. The little girl was on her way to school. The railroad track, wagon track and sidewalk are close together to-gether at the point where she was struck. A team of horses was being driven along the road and became frightened at tne train and the little girl was trying to keep out of the way of the horses and apparently ap-parently did not notice the approaching train, or got bewildered and ran directly in front of it. She was struck by tr.e engine and her neck broken, killing her instantly. She was the daughter of Mr. and Airs. Samuel Padfield, and what makes tt more distressingly sad to them, is the fact that they lost three of their sons in the great Scofield mine disaster a couple of years ago. The mother is near heartbroken heart-broken over the sad affair. The 2-weeks-old infant of Hyrum Bowman Bow-man died yesterday and was buried here today. Mrs. J. H. Lee of this place has been granted a divorce from her husband, John H. Lee. on the ground of habitual drunkenness. |
