On Friday evening, Dec. 4, the pipe brgan at St. Mary's cathedral will be formally opened at a. grand sacred concert con-cert given under the direction of Miss Ngra Gleason. J. J. McClellan. organist organ-ist of the Salt Lake tabernacle, will be the organ soloist. Others on the program will be the violin virtuoso, Willard E. Weihe. who will play selections selec-tions from "Parsifal," and the Bach-Gounod. Bach-Gounod. "Ave Maria." with harp and organ. Mrs. P. L. Hannifan of Pocatello. Poca-tello. formerly of the Royal conservatory conserv-atory of music of yienna, will sing "Salve Maria." by Mercandante. M. J. Brines, for three years tenor soloist of Trinity church, New York, will sing the "Cujus Animam" from Rossini's "Stabat Mater." Mrs. J. W. Curtis of the Notre Dame conservatory of music j will sing. "Salve Regina,'.' by Henshaw j Dana-. Mrs. Edward McGurrin will be the harp soloist. Frederick Smith, basso of the Metropolitan Opera company, sings the "Confutatis " from Verdi's Requiem. Re-quiem. Mrs. Stanley Price, M. J. Brines. Frederick Smith will sing the "Madre del Sommo" "from Campana. Mrs. Hallie Foster Sutherland will be the contralto soloist, and the cathedral choir of sixty selected voices will sing the Hallelujah chorus from Beethoven's "Mount of Olives." Mozart's "Gloria" and the Gounod "Sanctus." |
