Show ' BUTTE. MONT. The Catholic fair, now In progress at Leyson's hall in North Main street, is meeting with the most gratifying success suc-cess in every respect. The different booths are making ready sales and the general public has been exceedingly good to the committee in charge. Rev. Father Barry, the president, Is an untiring un-tiring worker and has a corps of able assistants, who will add their quota to swelling the church fund. Today Mr. Harry Symons, one of Butte's public-spirited public-spirited business men, will entertain at a turkey dinner at the hall the ladies and gentlemen connected with the fair and who have in any way added their help toward making it the success it is. The dinner will be given at 2:30 and in addition to an elaborate and perfectly served menu there will be music during the entire time spent at the table. A contest will be a feature the coming week, and some of the young ladies of the city are to compete for a scholarship scholar-ship at one of the well known schools in the east. The interior of the hall presents a very attractive appearance with the gay draperies and tissue -flowers arranged with pretty effect. One evening this week one or more well known ladies will contribute their services serv-ices and tell fortunes by the cards and palm. It was an elegant dinner that was given on Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Largey hosts at their home in West Broadway, covers being laid for ten. A. central arrangement of pink carnations and asparagus vine decorated deco-rated the table, together with pink-shaded pink-shaded candless and confections, the color tons being effectively carried out. Seated were: Mr. and Mrs. H. I. Wilson, Wil-son, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Cook, Mrs. J. W. Cotter, with Messrs. F. A. Heinze, Al Frank. Mr. White of Boston and the host and hostess. Patrick Leary, victim of an as yet unknown un-known bandit, died at St. James' hospital hospi-tal Thursday night at 9 o'clock from the bullet wound which he received early the morning before while in the North End saloon, just above the railroad tracks on Main street. . . Iibernia night at the bazar being conducted con-ducted by the parish of the Immaculate Conception proved a great success. In honor of the presence of the members of the three local A. O. H. divisions, the ladies in charge of the fair prepared a splendid fish dinner and it certainly was appreciated. The fair Is achieving big success and is visited by hundreds daily. , - |
