Show i Nicholas Benziger Dead. The Cincinnati hotiPe of Benziger Brothers received a cablegram on Nov. 24 announcing the death of Mr. Nicholas Nich-olas Benziger, sr., on Nov. 23, at Ein-sieden, Ein-sieden, Switzerland. Deceased was born in 1S30 and had been actively engaged in the Catholic publishing business for more than half a century. His sterling Christian character char-acter endeared him to all who knew him; and his generous, kindly treatment treat-ment of his large staff of employes won for him their sincere and grateful grate-ful love. During the lingering illness that finally, ended in death, Mr. Benziger Ben-ziger exhibited the most admirable patience pa-tience and resignation, and passed away ' comforted and fortified by the sacra ments oi ine cnurcn. Of the large family left by the deceased, de-ceased, Mr. Nicholas C. Benziger, the eldest son. located at Chicago since 1S87, has been the senior member of the well known publishing and church goods firm of Benziger Bros., established estab-lished in New York in 1S33, with branches in Cincinnati since I860, and in St. Louis since 1S75. Another son, Mr. Meinrad Benziger. is connected with the New York branch. |
