Show ; ICR. BRIGG3 AND FATHER LAM- , BERT. Mr. Briggs, who has some connection with the Catholic University in Washington, Wash-ington, has appeared in public print twice within the last six months. On both occasions Mr. Briggs' articles appeared ap-peared in the Catholic World, and were labored attempts to furnish the administration admin-istration with philosophical and theological theo-logical truth of the correctness of it3 position regarding the Philippines. To the priests of the country Mr. Briggs' essay into theology will furnish amusement, amuse-ment, and the opinion will no doubt occur to many that the Catholic University Uni-versity should have a censor to over- look the matter of its professors, if Mr. Briggs is a fair sample. Father Lambert, Lam-bert, in the Freeman's Journal,' has de-. molished the notions of Mr. Briggs and made ridiculous his claim that Catholic Cath-olic philosophers and theologians are in line with those who would justify the attitude of our government toward the Philippines by Sacred Writ.
