While I Senator Clark paid W glowing tribute to the devoted de-voted priests and nuns engaged in Ibis work, the public, will hardly bo inclined to .credit him. with pro-Catholic sentiment. All honor is, nevertheless, due Senator Clark as a champion of'abstraet justice, jus-tice, as a broad-minded statesman: disposed to encourage every agency for good among his people, and as a fair-minded citizen, able 1o discern the Christ-like spirit by which those meek and lowlv workers are animated, lie is, furthermore, a man with sufficient magnumily of soul and independence independ-ence of' character io give credit where credit i due. The dominonce of men of this exalted charm-tor in our body-politie would bring about an era of brighter and 'better things for our eounlry; an era of genuine progress advancement along the lines of greater intellectual, moral and spiritual development, de-velopment, s |
