Show ST. MARY'S ACADEMY. The composition exercises of the first preparatory class took an argumentative argumenta-tive form recently, the subject being one upon which no true American could b indifferent. The Misses J. Callahan and E. Bixby contended that Washington Wash-ington was a greater man than Lincoln, Lin-coln, while the reverse was stronglv maintained by the Misses V. Bowden and M. Franklin. The affirmative side won the day, and upon drawing for the priz?, a handsome book of poems, Miss Callahan proved the lucky one. |
