Show ANACONDA, MONT. Miss Marie Roland, who died in Butte, Oct. 7. was for several years a resident of this place, where she was -well known and had many warn; friends. Miss Roland was a scholar of exceptional attainments. She was a graduate of the Madison school in St. Paul and the Minnesota normal at Mankota and held a life , certificate in that state. She was appointed principal princi-pal of the St. Txuiis school, a French institution, in St. P.;ul by Archbishop Inland, and held the position for several sev-eral years. Miss Roiarid spoke Frenei) and German fluently and was considered consid-ered one of the best Gnolie scholars in tiie country. She was a native -of Kilkee. County Clare. Ireland. While in Anaconda she was a member of the ladies.' auxiliary of the A. O. II. She went to Ireland two years ago and had but receutlv returned to this country.
