Show Fake Dispatches. ; ' A fake dispatch from Rome purposes ! to pive certain regulations as to mar- ! riapi'. It says: "Matrimonial serrations have been countenanced, however, under the can-i can-i oniral law annulling marriages for the following causes: "1. Ceremony not in accordance with Catholic church rites. "2. Proof after marriage that husband hus-band and wife are nearly related. "3. Convictions of improper conduct by husband or wife. "4. Impersonation of a third person of either bride or bridegroom. "". Bigamy by husband or wife. "6. Inability of husband or wife to fulfill marriage relation." Number 1 we already explained in an article on Clandestinity. Relationship, 'ither through consanguinity or affinity, affin-ity, was always an impediment. Number Num-ber 3, if it refers to race suicide, can not invalidate a valid marriage. "What God hath Joined together let no man put asunder." Number 4 would cer- j tainly always invalidate the marriage I contract, as the essence of marriage consists in the mutual consent of the contracting parties. There can be no mutual consent between an absentee, and the bride or bridegroom as the case may be. Hence no marriage. Number f, bigamy, big-amy, cannot affect a valid marriage, 1. e.. the bigamist is bound, by the , laws of the church, to his first wife. |
