Show j CHEYENNE, WY0. ' j (Special Correspondence.) On Sunday, May 24, there was a reception re-ception of new members into the Sodality So-dality of .the Children of Mary. The ceremony was very pretty, Shortly after it took place, the Sodality enjoyed en-joyed a sumptuous supper, which the sisters had provided for them. At each one's place at table was an appropriate souvenir. The graduates were entertained on Thursday afternoon by the High school classes. The school hall v was prettily-decorated prettily-decorated for the occasion, and there all assembled to receive the "honored ! guests." Three guessing contests were held, and. prizes awarded; then there was music and singing until 5 o'clock, when all proceeded to the refectory, where a grand supper was served. "At 7 o'clock the party broke up and declared de-clared they had spent a most enjoyable time. The members of the Grand Army of the Republic of Cheyenne visited the convent on Friday afternoon in company com-pany with the Ladies' Relief corps, who numbered in all about fifty. The pupils pu-pils played three orchestral pieces and sang four national songs, and there were four speeches from some of the more prominent members. Mr. W. Mullen, the attorney general of Wyoming, Wyo-ming, gave a very pleasing speech, and the adjutant general. Mr. J. Gatshell presented a beautiful large silk flag to the Rev. Mother Superior for the school. This was to show, the appreciation apprecia-tion of the members of the G. A. R. for the nice programs given every year in their honor on Memorial day. The graduation is to take place in the convent on June 24; the day following, the distribution of prizes and honors is to be held, and on June 26 the pupil will leave for home. AGNES COYNE. |
