Show Christmas at St. Ann's Orphanage. "Suffer the little children to come to Me, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven," heav-en," thus saith the Great Master, and on Christmas morning the little children chil-dren of St. Anne's orphanage knelt before be-fore the tabernacle of the Great King and sang their sweet, pure, "Glory Be to God." We can only imagine how many a young mind there went back to Bethlehem and in a childish manner dear to God, to angel and to man, pictured pic-tured the crib and the Child, and ah, how they wished to be in the stable that winter's night long ago to bestow upon the Child Jesus some token of their love. But they knelt before His tabernacle on Christmas morning and gave the Infant Jesus the gift of gifts, the love of their little hearts. Very Rev. Dean Harris said the mass, and in his own fatherly and beautiful way put before the children's minds the story of Christmas. . There was an exceptionally fine musical mu-sical program rendered. Mary Young was organist and Rosie O'Neil violinist. violin-ist. The Adeste Fidelis was beautifully beautiful-ly rendered by the sweet voices of the boys. Mary Edwards sang a solo, O'Salutaris, and in the evening Marie McCallum played the organ at benediction. benedic-tion. The sisters are to be congratulated congratu-lated on their care and attention to the little ones. They exerted themselves to the utmost to make Christmas a happy one at St. Anne's orphanage. "Joyful Greetings' was delightfully rendered on Christmas eve by the little girls, seventy-eight in number, as they gathered around the Christmas tree, which was laden with gifts. J. G. McDonald and Mrs. William M. : O'Brien contributed to the happiness of the little folks. |
